Rain Rain Go Away Before WesFest
Apr. 12, 2011 by Anya Morgan
So I walk out of my dorm this morning and it’s pouring rain. My first reaction is a sarcastic “#cool.” (Since reactivating my Twitter account I’ve been thinking in hashtags…it’s kind of #weird.) And my second reaction is #nooooomyuggs!!!!
Let me backtrack a little. I wake up super early on Tuesdays and Thursdays because I like to go to breakfast before my 9 am class (four of us eat breakfast together, you could call it a sort of club) — anyways, it’s always really difficult for me to put together an outfit that early in the morning. In high school it was easy cause I just put on a uniform,
but now I have to dress like a normal female-identified person (read: look cute cause I go to school with boyz) and it’s hard, man.
I was wearing a hoodie, a long sleeve shirt, leggings, and Uggs, if you care to know. That’s all bundled up by LA standards–but practically naked by CT standards. And my Uggs are still recovering from my trek in the wet, wet outdoors. Still, a better outfit than usual; I’ve put on some pretty weird stuff on those early mornings. My Lit of London classmates must think I go straight from that class to clown school.
But I’m sure you didn’t come here to read about my multitudinous wardrobe malfunctions.
In other news…
THIS WEEKEND IS WESFEST AND I’M SOOOOOOOO EXCITED and I hope a lot of you are coming, dear readers!!!!
If you don’t know (which I kind of don’t because I didn’t come to WesFest last year), WesFest is a weekend-long celebration of everything Wesleyan, and hordes of prefrosh (that’s you!) come to ch-check it out. I’m having my friend Sydney stay with me for the weekend because she’s thinking of transferring here from NYU and wants to get the full Wes experience. It’s gonna be criz-azy to say the least.
Anyways, enjoy the rest of this cold and blustery and wet wet WET day.
xoxo,
Anya
